2015 Sangiacomo Chardonnay
Single-Vineyard Chardonnay, Barrel Fermented
Showing bigger oak on the nose than our Napa Valley Chard, with a voluminous front palate of candied citrus peel and carmelized apples. This is a rich and creamy Chardonnay with a full mouthfeel and satisfying acid balance. Nice lingering finish reminiscent of poached pears. Pairs excellently with crab, shellfish, cheeses, creamy sauces, and is remarkable drinking on its own.
Aged 11 months "sur lees" in 75% new French oak/Francois Freres Burgundy-shaped barrels, the wine was stirred every 10 days. Only 99 cases produced. This is a single-vineyard Chardonnay sourced from the cooler climes of the Sonoma plateau, the Sangiacomo Vineyards.
