Our Syrah hails from the north end of Napa Valley, the warmer, drier Calistoga District. Known for intense summer heat, Nils chose this Frediani Vineyard fruit to create a more concentrated, fuller-bodied & lush Syrah.

Nils's popular blend, sourced from our own Oakville District of Napa Valley. Named in honor of our best winery pooch, Chloe, who would happily greets our guests, prior to her retirement in the Sierras. Chloe was born on July 23, 2012 in Lake County, California about 30 miles from her current home. Chloe’s mother was a Malamute, owned by long-time friends of Nils, and her father was an Australian shepherd who jumped the fence one day: a nice blend, inspiring Nils to bring her on board. Nils gave Chloe lifetime Vineyard Dog status, one of the best gigs out there.

Created just for our Posse members! This Cabernet Sauvignon based blend contains 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 6% Malbec...all directly from our Saddleback estate vineyard.

With a touch of Merlot and using only the best barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2016 vintage, we created our 35th Anniversary Cabernet Sauvignon.  We’ve branded the wine “Nils” to honor Nils Venge’s great dedication to fine winemaking. Cheers to 35 years of Saddleback Cellars!

A dark purple in the glass with aromas of black tea and ripe currant. On the palate, bright and juicy, evoking the bursts of flavor found in peak-season cherries. Balanced tannins and a medium body lead to a cool, silky, long finish. This is an immensely approachable and food-friendly red wine. Pair with steaks, lamb, herb-crusted roasts and roasted vegetables.

By blending Cabernet Franc and a touch of Merlot with only the best barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2011 vintage, we created our 30th Anniversary Cabernet Sauvignon.  We’ve branded the wine “Nils” to honor Nils Venge’s great dedication to fine winemaking.  

The 2006 vintage marked Nils' 25th Anniversary with Saddleback, and he decided to design a special bottle of Cabernet for the occasion!
