1994 Pinot Blanc

Our dry-farmed Pinot blanc was declining from the effects of Phylloxera, so for the 1994 harvest we consolidated lots made from Pinot blanc grapes from the Carneros, from St. Helena and from those available from the winery estate located in Oakville, California one-third mile north of Oakville Cross Road along Money Road. All vines at all locations harvested for this vintage were on AxRl rootstock, spaced at approximately 8 x 10 feet, trained in a bilateral cordon and spur pruned. Site climates were in a wide range from Region 11 in St. Helena to Region 1 in Carneros; soils were also varied.
