1994 Cabernet Sauvignon

Our 1994 is a prime example of a classic Oakville and Rutherford Cabernet -- an opulent wine with beautiful, deep color, showing loads of extract. This Cabernet Sauvignon is yet another successor in a long line of stellar vintages from the Napa Valley since 1990: aromas of rich black cherries, blackberries, spice and currants flow in balance with moderate oak and hefty body. This rich, well-balanced, juicy wine lingers into a long finish. Life expectancy is 10-15 years.

The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is reminiscent of the Groth Cabernets produced in the mid-eighties. The wine exhibits plenty of chocolatey, cassis fruit, a nice touch of toasty oak, a thick, chewy texture, and mouthfilling extract and richness. The tannin is obscured by the wine's ripe fruit. The 1994 should drink well for 12-15 years.
